About the Event
The Summer Festival Orchestra presents music from cinema and stage, including Prokofiev's 'Montagues and Capulets' - most recently made popular by BBC's "The Apprentice", but originally written for the Bolshoi Ballet.
We have only had one year wait to hear Michael Triggs's "Earth" - winner of the 2022 Music Society Composition Competition, presented alongside music from stage and screen favourite "West Side Story", and "A Night Piece" from Bernard Hermann's score for Martin Scorsese's 1976 classic, Taxi Driver.
Michael Triggs - Earth (world premiere)
Bernstein - Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story”
Hermann - A Night Piece for Orchestra from "Taxi Driver"
Prokofiev - "Montagues and Capulets" from Suite No. 2 (from Romeo and Juliet), Op. 64c
Summer Festival Orchestra, directed by Daniele Rosina.
