This afternoon performance opens with Grace Williams’s 1940 Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes, a work featuring melodies including Gee-up, little horse and Sleep my baby. The Music Society’s Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes professional clarinetist Jack McNeill for the world premiere performance of Wild: Concerto for Bass Clarinet by Department of Music composition professor, Scott Wilson. Tchaikovsky's ever popular fifth symphony draws the concert to a close.
