The University of Birmingham Music Society is the oldest society at the University, and is the largest music-making body on campus. We have over 500 members, and welcome students, staff, and the local community as new members every year.
Members of an ensemble managed by the Music Society must become members in order to participate. We also welcome members who wish to support music-making on campus or get involved in our wide range of social activities.
Membership costs £20 per academic year and can be purchased below. The membership fee covers all ensembles managed by the Music Society.
INFORMATION ABOUT JOINING
The University of Birmingham Music Society welcomes all UoB students and staff, and members of the local community. Membership costs £15 per academic year if you buy during the first three weeks of the Autumn or Spring terms, after which the fee increases to £20.
You must be a member to participate in a Music Society ensemble. University Music also offers a variety of other performance opportunities that may be of interest to you. If you have not become a member of the Music Society by the third rehearsal you will no longer be able to take part. In addition to ensemble participation, membership offers benefits such as discounts on social activities throughout the year, including the Music Society Ball in the Spring Term.
You can join the society online at any time by following the link below, or in person during Welcome Week (late September) or at the first two rehearsals of each ensemble in the Autumn and Spring Terms.
